Volunteer with Denise Louie Education Center

I’m excited to announce that I’m a volunteer with the Denise Louie Education Center on various organizing projects.

Who was Denise Louie?

Denise Louie was a young Chinese-American activist who played an integral role in revitalizing Seattle’s International District. Since 1978, Denise Louie Education Center has provided high-quality multicultural early learning and family support services so that Seattle kids will be ready to succeed in school and life.

There are three Head Start education centers located at Beacon Hill, the International District, and in the Seward Park area that provide Preschool Services to children between 3 to 5 years old. DLEC also has 3 weekly Play and Learn groups throughout the Seattle area.

DLEC also offers families in-home visits as well as connection with the various services that are available for them in the community.

Volunteering is Essential

This has been the culmination of my goal from earlier this year to begin giving back to the community with my passion for seeing individuals and organizations thrive through increased productivity and organization. Special thanks to DLEC Executive Director Susan Yang, Birth to Three Director Adrian Lopez-Romero, and Operations & Facilities Manager Tiffany Morgan.
